Battlefleet Gothic 2: Armada’s Pre-Order Beta Has Begun

40K Is Back in the Void

Courtesy of the folks over at Focus Home Interactive, we’re back with the majesty of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2. It’s the game of epic-scale space battles set in the Warhammer 40K universe, and the beta week has started.

In preparation for launch, the developers uploaded a set of videos to help players orient themselves. Since the war in space is waged across three dimensions, it’s better to enter the admiral’s seat prepared. The first piece of footage includes an overview of fleets and their destructive capabilities, while the second grants a deeper look into tactical gameplay. Both clips offer a spectacle of interstellar battles with ships from Battlefleet Gothic’s dynamic list of factions.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 dwarfs its predecessor by bringing all twelve factions from the tabletop space. Each fleet comes with its own playstyle, although some tactics may cross over from space hulk to space hulk. Over the course of the beta, you can get a sense of each faction’s specialty through the skirmish and multiplayer modes. Access is exclusive to pre-orders, but Steam users can take advantage of the 10% discount available through this link. A 25 % discount is available to owners of the original Battlefleet Gothic. The beta test lasts from now until December 12th, with another to follow in January.

Alongside the aforementioned modes, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 will launch with three fully-fledged campaigns. Play as the Imperium, the Necrons, and the Tyranids alongside potential co-op partners. That’s right, you can embark on the 13th Black Crusade with a buddy. Ranked multiplayer, too, will also be available at launch, alongside 1v1 and 2v2 skirmish. Expect more details soon.

Happy gaming.
