Destiny 2 Is Free Right Now for PC, but Only for a Limited Time
BlizzCon 2018 is currently in full swing and just before the opening ceremony for the show, Bungie’s very own Stevie Cotton appeared to make an exciting Destiny 2 announcement. PC players will have the opportunity to pick up the game for free, but only for a limited time.
During the official live stream for BlizzCon 2018, before it all got underway, Stevie Cotton, Game Director of Destiny 2 shared the news that the game will be available for free on Battle.net from now until November 18th. All you have to do is download the game on your Battle.net account before then and you’ll be able to keep it forever. According to Cotton, you will get an exclusive emblem as well. Here’s what he had to say, “We know Destiny players that want to play on PC expect an amazing experience, whether it’s on their own or with their friends — so, our paramount concern was to keep the discerning requirements of the PC community in mind, and welcoming the Battle.net and Bungie PC communities together. With this gift we look forward to seeing new Guardians in our universe.”
While players will not receive the most recent expansion for the game, Forsaken, they will be able to download the entire base game complete with the eight-hour campaign and a level of 20. Of course this also means you’ll have access to both the multiplayer mode Crucible, as well as the Leviathan Raid.
In other Destiny 2 news, according to a recent SuperData report, Destiny 2 had the highest digital sales for the month of September, beating out games like Spider-Man, FIFA 19 and the hugely popular battle royale Fortnite.
