The Contra-like Blazing Chrome Will Now Launch Early 2019

Check Out the New Blazing Chrome “Environments” Trailer

Publisher Arcade Crew and developer Joymasher has announced that Blazing Chrome, the Contra and Metal Slug-inspired side-scrolling shooter, will now launch in early 2019.

A brand-new gameplay clip was released alongside the announcement which shows off many of the “devastating environments” that await “action fans eager to fight for a brighter, less mechanically-dominated future.” According to the official description, players “will need a steady aim as they plow through a warzone, utilizing tide-changing power-ups, powerful exosuits, and an arsenal of futuristic weaponry to stay alive on the battlefield.”

Players can select between characters Mavra, a lone human resistance fighter, or Doyle, a rebellious robot insurgent as they make their way through six “highly-varied stages.”

It was also announced that there will be an exclusive Blazing Chrome-themed t-shirt in the upcoming Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes for Nintendo Switch. You can see the shirt design below.

As we mentioned in an earlier article, Blazing Chrome is being developed under The Arcade Crew, a new gaming division of Dotemu. It will focus on publishing new games from smaller indie studios.

Blazing Chrome is slated to launch on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. While there aren’t any details about an Xbox One release, it’s possible an Xbox One version is in the works and that it might arrive at a later date.
