Bloodborne Community Starting It’s Own Halloween Event, With Blackjack, and Hookers!

It Takes a Village To Keep A Blockbuster Hit Game Alive When Its Developers Won’t

Forsaken by the game’s extremely painful lack of real-post launch support aside from a single expansion, the Bloodborne community is no stranger to getting the party started.

Bloodborne
Hi I’m the Orphan of Kos and welcome to my crib. Oh, this? This is my placenta sack, I made it myself. I can make you one too if you’d like, just gotta get some more placentas.

Bloodborne, which it seems both From Software and Sony have forgotten has a thriving fanbase full of beasts who haven’t stopped frothing at the mouth for more since the game launched back in 2015, is notoriously absent from just about everything from E3 to seasonal events, despite said fanbase still playing the game and begging for any reason to throw more money at it. Therefore, that fanbase has taken it upon themselves to form multiple in-game events, the latest of which is The Blood Moon: A Halloween Event, taking place from October 26th to November first.

Designed by r/Bloodborne member Durzho, the event takes influence from the Return to Yharnam fan event. The rules are as such:

  • Create a new character.
  • Co-op at least 3 times before defeating the boss of each area.
  • Invade at least 3 times before defeating the boss of each area.
  • Always carry your torch to demonstrate you’re part of the hunt.

The lack of official Bloodborne content may be a result of it being considered part of the Souls series, which From has currently put down for a nap as they’ve done little of note outside of the Souls games for the past decade. It’s great to see that the game has such a loving community committed to breathing life back into it every few months, even going so far as to dig up unused content in the game’s files what seems like regularly.

Bloodborne is currently available exclusively on PS4, and is highly recommended by just about everyone who has ever laid hands on it. Let us know what you think in the comments and keep it locked to COGconnected for all the latest gaming news!
