What A Wildly Appropriate Title
Uwe Boll is pretty famous among gamers, although not in a good way. The German director has done more to tarnish the reputation of video game movies than everyone else in the film industry put together. So of course the title of the documentary is F**k You All: The Uwe Boll Story.
The title of said documentary is apparently a direct quote from Boll pulled from a video message over one of his cancelled projects. It seems he was unable to raise enough funding for a sequel to his film Postal. Based on his career trajectory, I can easily understand what went wrong. The trailer for the film, embedded below, offers a few snippets of quotes and interviews from several people who’ve worked with Boll over the years. They (along with Boll himself) paint a fascinating portrait of the German director’s career.
Apparently his willingness to put out flop after flop is tied to his general attitude as a tremendous ass who listens to absolutely no one. Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m deeply curious about this man and his bizarre life. I need to know how he went from an angry garbage-centric auteur to a successful Vancouver restaurant owner.
