Gungrave G.O.R.E Coming Winter 2019
Gungrave belongs to special class of Japanese games too weird and cool to be from anytime but the mid-2000s. The enormous demonic weapons, the insane character names and the music are all perfect expressions of a time that was all too brief. Thankfully the game’s developers want to go back. Beyond the Gungrave VR title, there’s a new full-fledged sequel in the works called Gungrave G.O.R.E.
The teaser trailer doesn’t offer up much, aside from a long look at the protagonist and his fabulous design. Seriously, that’ such a badass weapon he’s hauling around. Too ridiculous to be real, too amazing to ignore. Although we don’t know much about G.O.R.E, the series itself can offer up some clues.
The previous two games follow Beyond The Grave through a path of savage vengeance. Well, the first game is all about revenge. The sequel is more or less a vehicle for more of Grave’s over the top antics and incredible gun play. From these two games we can infer that G.O.R.E will be loaded with crazy weapons, ridiculous special moves and a paper-thin story. I for one am particularly excited. Gamers longing for a return to gaming’s edgy/wacky phase would do well to keep an eye on this one.
