Tales Of Mystery
The producer behind the Tales series has started a new game studio, along with a new game series called Project Prelude Rune. A very brief teaser trailer was dropped that reveals almost nothing about the game, leaving plenty of room for baseless speculation and wild guess work. So many questions!
The trailer starts with a cryptic phrase, “may you always be just my beloved children.” We’re then treated to a couple of shots of backgrounds and settings, followed by a very short glimpse of the protagonist and a quick look at the larger world in store. As you may have noticed, ‘brief’ is a major theme at play here.
Now for some wild guesses! Since this is a new studio from an established figure in the games industry, one could assume these upcoming games will go in a slightly different direction than Hideo Baba’s previous efforts. Given how similar most Tales games tend to be, maybe he’s looking to break new ground? According to Baba, his team is hoping to create “a warm fantasy world imbued with deep themes and messages.” The trailer isn’t meaty enough to bring this across, but check it out below regardless.
