Death Stranding Has Some Familiar Voices
Death Stranding developer Hideo Kojima, best known for his work on the Metal Gear Solid series, recently confirmed four of the voice actors starring in the Japanese dub. Notably, the cast includes Akio Otsuka, the voice of Big Boss and Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid games, and Kikuko Inoue, who voiced The Boss in Metal Gear Solid 3.
The remaining cast members are Nana Mizuki, who voiced Paz in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, The Phantom Pain, and Ground Zeroes, and Kenjiro Tsuda, who worked on Attack on Titan and Yu-Gi-Oh!

In a recent interview, Kojima spoke on his connection to movies and their influence on Death Stranding.
“I can’t say this is the movie I’m referencing for this,” he said. “I’m pretty sure that out of all of the stuff I consume, they are influencing me, but I don’t have any particular reference.”
So far, the game appears to be going for a very surreal vibe—something that Kojima is very aware of.
“I want to keep the balance between authorship and having it be entertainment,” he said. “Sometimes I see very artistic movies, independent films, but I do want to a go to a midpoint so that people who enjoy indie films and Marvel films can both enjoy this game.”
