Prepare to Die This Weekend on Nintendo Switch

The first network tests for the Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered will take place this weekend, Bandai Namco has announced.

Dark Souls Remastered

The network test is a way to test out the servers before the game officially launches next month. Eager fans can participate on September 21st at 7 PM CEST all the way through to 11 PM CEST. Bandai Namco has also scheduled a second and third network test for September 22nd and 23rd at the same times. There will also be testing slots for Asia and for North and Sound America during the same days. You can see the below tweet for more information.

The network tests were originally planned to run alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game but were obviously postponed when the Switch version got delayed. The new release date is now slated for October 19th. The all-new Solaire amiibo will also launch that day which will add the “Praise the Sun” gesture to the game.

The Dark Souls Trilogy will launch on October 19th for PS4 and Xbox One. It contains Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition plus all of their bonus content.

Here’s a snippet of our review of the remastered version:

“The controls, the level design, and the lore all feel like precise expressions of the developers’ complete vision. Yet I must attach that age-old caveat: this game will remorselessly kick your ass, leaving you hardly a heartbeat before the boot comes whistling your way again. If my delirious ravings awash in the haze of ceaseless suffering appeal to you, know that this is a must-buy title. On the other hand, if you’re intimidated or worse, if you’re a dab hand at this Souls business, you might be left wanting.”
