The Yakuza Series Finally Comes to PC With an Amazing Origin Story
After being announced at this year’s PC Gaming Show at E3, Yakuza 0 for PC is finally here and players will finally be able to dive into the series outside of a Playstation console for the first time ever.
For those unfamiliar with the series, the Yakuza games are story-driven action RPGs in which players take on the role of Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, that play out like a perfect marriage of the compelling storytelling of The Godfather, 3D Streets of Rage-esque combat, and amusingly wacky Japanese life-simulators. 0 is somewhat of an origin story for the franchise’s main character and thus, is an exceptional onboarding experience for anyone who has been curious of what all the rage is about surrounding the series.
Speaking personally, I recently finished Yakuza 0 on PS4 and it’s one of the first games in years to have me coming back for more after completing the main storyline, which takes around 30 to 40 hours to complete. The game is packed to the brim with minigames and sidestories in a carefully detailed and true to life Japan.
Yakuza 0 is only $29.99 on Steam which is a pretty solid deal if you ask me.
Recently, the series producer explained why Yakuza would likely not come to the Switch, and a demo for the remake of Yakuza 2 is now live on PSN. Let us know what you think of all this in the comments and stay tuned to COGconnected for all the latest gaming news!
