The 500 Million PS4 Pro Sold out and Is Now on Amazon for $1,880

There’s Practically No Chance Sony Will Make More

In case you didn’t realize, the “500 Million” limited edition PS4 Pro already went live. To commemorate over 500 million consoles sold since the PS1 era, Sony developed a unique PlayStation 4 Pro bundle with a headset, camera, and a whopping 2 Terabytes of space. With its translucent blue design, the hardware sold out in a flash. Naturally, this means that many buyers came, saw, and scalped.

Over on Amazon, you may find some of the 500 Million edition PS4 Pros available at outstanding mark-ups. As PlayStation stated when they revealed their one-of-a-kind console bundle, only a few thousand would be produced. This, of course, drew the eyes of console scalpers, who have since relisted the consoles. At the time of this writing, the heftiest price tag on Amazon offers the bundle at $1,880.00, more than thrice the original price. Every available limited edition bundle, it seems, has been listed for over $1,000.

If you’re a prospering PlayStation gamer, you might opt for the standalone controller and headset. The 500 Million edition DualShock 4 and Gold Wireless headset have hit store shelves. At the time of this writing, they’re available at GameStop, BestBuy, and Amazon. They carry the same functionality as the original products, except they come in the translucent blue shell, which some of you might like. The headset may be especially enticing if you care about its 7.1 virtual surround sound, which offers everything from whispers to explosions.

Scalpers have prevailed in retail since the Nintendo Switch’s launch. They’ve always been around; we’ve just seen more of them this generation, especially when the NES Classic arrived. Were you hoping to snag a 500 Million PS4 Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
