Will Demons Hunters Hit the Silver Screen?
While video game movies are still struggling to carve their place in the world, video game animes are doing just fine. The most successful video game adaptation came in the form of Netflix’s Castlevania series, so it’s no wonder the company is looking into a series with Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo if the reports are true.
According to Revenge of the Fans, Netflix has found a writer for their rumored Diablo series, and it is none other than Hellboy writer Andrew Cosby. Unfortunately, no other details are available at this time. We don’t know if the alleged production has a showrunner or even a concept for the franchise that started its life back in 1996. If we were to base our predictions on the success of the Castlevania series, it’s possible the adaptation will revolve around the game’s origins.
If there is anything new and Diablo-related in the works, you can be sure we’ll learn something at BlizzCon. Every year, Blizzard Entertainment likes to unveil an epic piece of news or game content. Will this be the year they preview something television-related? Perhaps the publisher/developer will release the news alongside all-new Diablo content for the Nintendo Switch. I guess we’ll just have to wait until November.
Are you excited for the prospect of a Diablo television series? Which video game timeline would you like to see on the silver screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
