Even though Nintendo spent most of its time revealing and talking about Super Smash Bros Ultimate at E3 2018, fans are still clamouring for more info about the upcoming Switch brawler. The good news is that they won’t have to wait very long.
Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct focused all on Super Smash Bros Ultimate for this Wednesday, August 8th, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET.
The announcement came from the Nintendo Versus Twitter account yesterday. The tweet states that the Direct will have “new game information delivered by Masahiro Sakurai.” Masahiro Sakurai is the series creator and has been the director in charge since the series debuted on the N64.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate was first teased back in March during a Nintendo Direct broadcast and then fully revealed in June during E3. At E3, it was confirmed that every fighter from every previous game would be back for Ultimate, making a roster of more than 60. Other information revealed so far includes Metroid’s Ridley finally joining the fight and that GameCube controllers and Amiibo would be supported.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate is slated to be out on December 7th for the Nintendo Switch. While you wait, make sure you read our ‘8 Things You Need to Know About Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ feature.
