Square Enix Isn’t Worried About Kingdom Hearts III Newcomers

Kingdom Hearts III Welcomes New Fans

Kingdom Hearts III takes place about fourteen years after Kingdom Hearts II, and in a series known for its convoluted storyline, this seems like a nightmare for newcomers. But Square Enix community manager Sunil Godhania says that the newcomers won’t have any trouble getting into the game. In fact, he encourages new players to avoid worrying about the series’ many entries and spin-offs.

“Please, just play the game, get into it, and I’ll think you’ll find a lot that you love about it,” he said, adding that there are many fans that didn’t start with the first game.

“Actually, we’ve found that any Kingdom Hearts game can be a jumping-in point for anyone,” he said.

In addition, director Tetsuya Nomura has previously stated that newcomers will get be able to get a recap.

“We have included several elements in Kingdom Hearts 3 to explain the story and get newcomers up to speed the minimum required level of understanding, including a series of videos to explain the story so far at the start of the game,” he said. “I would be delighted if people who played Kingdom Hearts 3 took an interest in the series overall and went back to play the previous games as well.”

Kingdom Hearts III will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 29 2019.
