Gamescom 2018: Shenmue 3 Launches in August 2019

The Long-Awaited Sequel Finally Gets a Specific Release Date

Shenmue 3 is going to launch on the PS4 & PC on August 27, 2019, according to a short trailer for the game that was shown at Gamescom on Tuesday.

The third game in the beloved series follows Ryo Hazuki as he continues his quest for revenge against Lan Di, a Chinese martial artist & crime lord who murdered Ryo’s father.

Alongside a young companion, a village girl named Shenhua, Ryo will travel to several different locations in 1980s China and interact with many new characters as he tries to track down Lan Di.

This is the first time Shenmue 3 has been given a specific release date (in the past, its only publicly had release windows) and this fact could come as a relief for series fans due to how many times the third game has been delayed already.

They’ve been waiting for this game since its Kickstarter was first announced back in 2015 and a more concrete release date after all these years somewhat indicates that the game’s developers at Ys Net are confident about meeting that deadline.
