What New Indie Games Will Be Announced for the Switch?
A new video stream that’s meant to show off several indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch is scheduled for August 28th at 9AM PT/12 PM ET. The stream’s description reads that the stream will highlight “multiple unannounced indies games” that’ll be available on the Switch.
Earlier this week, Nintendo released a video that showed a bevy of Switch indie games and revealed release dates for several of them. The game company has previously expressed their desire to release 20 to 30 indie games a week on the Switch.
“During development on Nintendo Switch, creating a development environment where it would be easy to create games was one of our top priorities,” said Shinya Takahashi, a Nintendo general manager, during an official meeting earlier this year. “One of the good things to come from this is the large number of indie games, especially in Europe and North America. We do not think of indie games as competition for the large-scale games we develop ourselves. Rather, I think these indie games are what really invigorate Nintendo Switch overall”
