Get Ready for More Police Management Action on August 2nd
THQ Nordic and Weappy Studio have confirmed a release date for This Is the Police 2, their sequel to 2016’s sleeper hit police management game. The game will launch on August 2nd for PC, Mac, and Linux with console versions coming “later this autumn.”
There’s a new gameplay trailer below for your viewing pleasure:
Similar to the first game, This Is the Police 2 will blend adventure and management genres together for a unique story-driven and choice-based experience. Mechanically, the sequel is more complex by giving the player more control during combat scenarios and will actually play a part in what officers can live and/or die. Expect a deeper and more strategic game than the original.
Based on the press release, “it won’t be enough just managing the equipment of your policemen and keeping in mind their individual skills. Every challenge requires the player’s direct participation on a tactical combat scene, and the outcomes will depend on every decision you make. Now your subordinates aren’t just some resource; they are living people with their own strengths, weaknesses, fears and prejudices, and you’ll have to reckon with all these things in order to survive.”
Aesthetically, This Is the Police 2 may have a similar art style to the first game but it now looks completely different thanks to a snowy environment that doesn’t seem that far off from the excellent ‘Fargo‘ television series.
