Sea of Thieves’ Skeletons Are Preparing for War
Announced at E3, Sea of Thieves free Cursed Sails content update has a release date, and it’ll be shoring up on your PC or Xbox sooner than you think.
The trailer itself doesn’t give away too much information, but a blog post on the game’s website details what to expect when the update drops two weeks from today.
The most drastic change coming to Sea of Thieves in the Cursed Sails update is the addition of Ghost Ships helmed by skeletons, which from the looks of the trailer, will surprise attack players by emerging from the underneath the sea ready to stage a full blown assault. The blog post also implies that skeleton crews may be able to take over certain areas of the map, making them more hostile to traverse through.
A new ship joins the fleet as well in the form of the Brigantine, a ship specifically for crews of up to three people, as well as a new Alliance system that “encourages the formation of fleets united under a single cause, ready to tackle greater challenges and share the rewards.” Cursed Sails will also implement a limited time story driven campaign featuring unique rewards.
The update will drop on July 31st. In the meantime, players can enjoy the Sunken Curse event currently going on. The next update following Cursed Sails, Forsaken Shores, is set for September, and Rare says that three more unannounced content updates are on the way as well. Sea of Thieves is currently available for PC and Xbox One.
