Microsoft’s E3 Conference Just Kept On Revealing Surprise After Surprise!
During a very well-received E3 conference on Sunday, Xbox boss Phil Spencer mentioned that Microsoft was currently developing a new “iterations” of next-gen Xbox console. Well, according to Thurott, this new console is currently codenamed “Scarlet”.
“I have been told that the codename for the next series of devices is currently Scarlet but I don’t know a timeline for release at this time,” wrote Thurott reporter Brad Sams.
Spencer also mentioned during the conference that Microsoft was going to focus more and more on streaming and that soon you’ll be able to stream “console-quality” games on any device such as your phone.
He had spoken about Microsoft’s focus on streaming a few days before their E3 conference. “I care less that people play Minecraft on an Xbox One, but that people can play Minecraft no matter what console or device they have in front of them,” he told Variety when he was asked about Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s vision for future consoles.
Spencer also said that gaming is “less about having specific devices to play a certain game on, but having your favorite games accessible on any device you have.”
