Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Blasts past One Million Copies Sold

Ninja Theory Reveals Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Has Hit One Million Copies Sold

The former independent developer from the UK Ninja Theory, the very same studio recently acquired by Microsoft, has officially announced their award-winning title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has blast past one million copies sold. This reveal comes after less than a year on the market and for an independent developer that’s definitely impressive.

Earlier this year, during the BAFTA Game Awards Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice hit the jackpot taking home five awards including ones for Artistic Achievement, Best Performer, and Best British Game. This third-person action game stands out from the majority of games in the industry for its exploration of mental health. Despite its indie roots, it’s not at all surprising that the game has passed the one million mark of copies sold. After all NInja Theory announced back in November that the game had officially turned a profit with over half a million copies sold and that was as a PS4 exclusive alone. Now that it’s available on the Xbox and PC, and with its impressive triple-A graphics and critical acclaim its sales can only keep going up!

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice came out in August 2017 and is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Here’s what we had to say about the game in our review, “Don’t let the game’s low price trick you though because Hellblade is a high production title. The story of Senua’s Sacrifice will take the player through mythological Norse and Celtic worlds as they travel to their interpretation of Hell. Beautiful kaleidoscopes alter the saturation and hue of the colors in the world. The brilliant animations look straight out of a Naughty Dog game. The deep combat system can be seen as simplistic to those that don’t get the most out of it. Hellblade’s close camera angle while in combat makes for an intimate experience as the player fights droves of demons from the underworld.”

If you’re looking to try the game out for yourself, it is 40 percent off right now on Steam during the huge Intergalactic Summer Sale that launched yesterday. You can check out the amazing sales milestone below as Ninja Theory announced the news earlier today on their official Twitter page.
