Bleach Characters Officially Coming to Jump Force

Bleach fans can now look forward to Jump Force a bit more: a tweet by Yonkou Productions confirms that Ichigo will appear as he does in the Thousand Year Blood War arc. Rukia and Aizen will also make appearances, although it’s not clear if they will be playable.

Bandai Namco’s Jump Force lets players assume the role of popular characters from shonen anime and manga series’ like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and One Piece. It was first announced at Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference, and since then producer Koji Nakajima has delved a bit more into what the game is going to offer players.

“We’re trying to make this game for a worldwide audience,” he said via a translator. “We want to include iconic characters, characters that everyone around the world will see and go, “wow.’ But, also, we don’t want to be predictable either. Everybody expects us to include characters like Goku in the game, of course. We want to include a few surprises in there, too.”

“We want to give the players a sense of action. And we want anyone to be able to pick up and play it. There’s strategy to it, and even some techniques, but the action that it produces was definitely our focus. We want the players to feel powerful, like they’re really these characters, and for them to feel distinct. Those who like the previous ‘Naruto’ games or the ‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse’ games are exactly our audience for Jump Force.”

Jump Force is planned for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019.
