‘The Hungering Deep’ Promises More Massive Monsters
Sea of Thieves, for some people, has felt a little light on content. Sure, it’s fun sailing the seas with your friends and getting into trouble, but what all can you really do? Thankfully, the first major update is coming to the game on May 29th. ‘The Hungering Deep’ looks like it’ll increase the game’s monster population, if nothing else.
The trailer is rather vague, taking the form of a legend passed down from a crusty pirate with only one of his original limbs intact. He talks about enormous sea creatures being worshiped by the people who first discovered them, along with an ominous mention of human sacrifices. You just know that will end up getting abused to great effect.
Can you imagine? Finding one of these colossal monsters on a random voyage, half-remembering this half-wooden sailor’s ramblings, and throwing one of your colleagues overboard in the hopes of appeasing the monster below? You know that’s what will happen more than anything else. It’s not like you can feasibly convince one of your enemies to take one for the team. Hopefully we get all the details when the update hits Sea of Thieves later this month.
