Game of Thrones’ Composer Gets His Hands on Nintendo Labo

What Happens Next Is Neither Dark nor Fantasy

Gaming has become an Omni-medium for artistic expression, as has been demonstrated by the Nintendo Switch. Thanks to the Nintendo Labo, gamers can do more, and so can everyone else. But, what happens when you pair a top-tier composer with musical hardware made of cardboard?

Presenting Ramin Djawadi, one of the most renown composers working today. Even if you don’t remember his name, exactly, you’re most likely familiar with his music. The artist has been prolific in bringing us tunes for Westworld and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most notably, he is the man behind the Game of Thrones score. Now, we get to see him put that musical talent to action with the Nintendo Labo.

Djawadi’s latest performance comes courtesy of IGN. You’ll note that he’s utilizing hardware from the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit. Enjoy the show.

If you ever sought to try your hand at composing the Game of Thrones soundtrack, here’s your evidence that it can be done with the Nintendo Labo. Award-winning talent not included. However, this is just a glimpse of what can be done with gaming nowadays, and it’s great to see that Djawadi enjoyed his time with a Nintendo product—then again, it’s Nintendo. As such, I look forward the doors gaming software can open in the future. For example, we have a title like Media Molecule’s Dreams that will allow users to construct games within a game.

Celebrities, it seems, have taken a liking to Labo. We’ve previously seen it held by the likes of Jimmy Fallon and Bill Nye the Science Guy. Stay tuned for more gaming news, stories, and deals as time goes by.
