The Anticipated Remake May Really Be Happening!
The rumored Spyro PS4 remake, according to Kotaku UK’s sources, was supposed to be announced last month. Obviously that didn’t happen but a mysterious Twitter account (known currently as Falcon McBob) may have just confirmed that the remake is going to happen without even tweeting anything.
How, you ask? Because the official Crash Bandicoot Twitter account has recently started following that same Twitter account! Combine that with the mysterious purple egg that an IGN editor received from one “Falcon McBob” recently and this rumored remake sure looks like its going to happen!
The game is rumored to be a remake of all three PS1 Spyro games with current-gen graphics, a remastered soundtrack, new cutscenes and an updated save feature. The remake is also rumored to be exclusive to the PS4 for only one year before coming to other platforms in 2019.
Vicarious Visions, the developer behind last year’s successful Crash Bandicoot remake, was also rumored to be developing the Spyro remake. The developer has also been rumored to be developing new Crash Bandicoot games.
While Kotaku UK’s report got the reveal date for the Spyro remake wrong, the report could still be right about the remake coming out in September (which would coincide with Spyro’s 20th anniversary).
It should also be noted that E3 is only two months away and that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was first fully revealed at last year’s E3.
So, how excited are you for this Spyro remake? What changes would you like to be made for the remake? What aspects of the old games should be left alone? In what ways could the remake improve upon the old games? Should cut content be added for this remake?
