Only on the Xbox One X
As of today, you can play Red Dead Redemption in native 4K, thanks to the latest Xbox One X enhancement. Rockstar’s critically acclaimed Western title is one of few classics added to the list of Xbox One X enhances games.
Microsoft seems to be stepping up their game. Instead of simply selecting some new titles for their Backward Compatibility library, they’re delivering improvements. Red Dead Redemption had already aged relatively well, but a big resolution upgrade (and some aliasing tweaks) makes it truly worthy of this generation, nearly eight years later. But that’s just a testament to the capabilities of the Xbox One X. If you’ve yet to experience the open-world title, now’s as good a time as any. Since it’s all but confirmed that we shall never see a PC release, the X brings the best visuals applicable.
Additional symbols of Microsoft’s dedication come in the form of Darksiders, Gears of War 2, Portal 2, Sonic Generations, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. All the aforementioned games shall now see a resolution upgrade on the Xbox One X. Meaning there’s been a greater value to Backward Compatibility, especially when considering the news we received earlier today. If you haven’t seen the list of titles recently added to Xbox Backward Compatibility, you can view our coverage here.
