A new patch has hit the Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s latest game: Attack on Titan 2, bringing some bug fixes and a whole new way to play. In a move that may or may not be that surprising the companies have brought in everyone’s favorite genre: Battle Royale in Expulsion!

Yes, you read that right. Attack on Titan 2 officially has a Battle Royale mode called Expulsion. It puts a bit of spin on the genre, pitting six players against each other to rack up as many Titan kills at the end of the 4 minutes to be the player with the most points at the end. Here’s what the press release has to say, “Battle Royale style competitive mode with a maximum of 6 players, where players compete for the amount of points earned within a 4 minute time limit. Titan elimination points are points received when you take out Titans in battle and the player with the highest score wins. Players can choose a skill type out of 10 types that matches their play style, with base stats similar for each player. While players cannot directly attack other players, they may steal opportunities to defeat Titans and use items to obstruct other players, so eliminating Titans more quickly than anyone else becomes vital.”

As you can see, it’s not the typical Battle Royale formula as you race against time to be the player with the most points, instead of being the last player standing. In order to access this Expulsion Mode, select another mode in the main game screen. From there, go to the white tent where you can currently access the various multiplayer modes and click on the NPC with a globe icon. In addition to the previous new game modes like Annihilation, a 4v4 competitive mode, and Predator, a mode that lets players take on the role of a Titan, this Expulsion Mode is now available to play as well. You can check out a video of the new mode below.

Attack on Titan 2 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. What do you think about this latest game mode? Let us know in the comments below and keep it locked for updates!
