Experience the next God of War in 4K
It was teased some time back by rogue retailers, and it has been officially unveiled. If you’re looking forward to God of War 4 and don’t yet have a PS4, here’s your package of the year. Here’s our first look at the Limited Edition God of War 4 PS4 Pro, and its inscribed with all sorts of magnificent runes.
According to the PlayStation blog, here’s exactly what you’re getting when you purchase the Limited Edition God of War 4 PS4 Pro Bundle:
“This special bundle features a fully customized PS4 Pro console inspired by Kratos’ Axe, a Leviathan Gray DualShock 4 wireless controller with insignia, a physical copy of God of War and digital content. This limited edition bundle will be available across the U.S. and Canada for $399.99 USD (MSRP) / $499.99 CAD (MSRP).”
This specific PlayStation 4 Pro was designed with the assistance of director Cory Barlog and the good folks over at Santa Monica studio. While it looks like a beautiful recreation of Kratos’ axe and its skill tree, my applause is reserved for the front of the console. PlayStation never bothers to decorate the most visible part of the console, which is the front. Therefore, I’m inclined to believe that it was Barlog’s team who thought up the idea to put runes near the base. Kudos to them. And if you’d like, you can read more about the design on the PlayStation Blog.
On to technical details. If you own a 4K tv, the PS4 Pro will render God of War 4 in 2160p checkerboard rendering. If you’re utilizing a PS4 Pro with a regular 1080p, you will benefit from increased image clarity via supersampling. Last but not least, God of War supports HDR on all PlayStation 4s. Now that’s worth your applause. Find the game across major retailers on April 20th.
Happy gaming,
