Peace Is but a Memory for the Land of Erebonia
Publishers XSEED announced yesterday during their Twitch stream that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II will be getting a pc re-release through Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store on Febuary 14th.
The game will carry over many features from the previous instalment’s PC release, such as 60 fps framerate, 4K resolution support, and the well-received Turbo Mode, which gives the player the option to speed up the game’s turn-based battles.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II is a direct sequel to its predecessor, and picks up one month after the end of the first game. It puts you back into the familiar boots of Rean Schwarzer, the school student who was handpicked for the controversial Class VII; a group of school students who must safeguard the land of Erebonia from chaos.
This time, the country has been splint asunder by civil war after the events of the previous instalment. Rean awakens in a mountain near his hometown but is uncertain what kind of fate befell his friends, who threw themselves in harm’s way to buy him time to escape.
Rean decides to take up his sword again and journeys across the lands of Erebonia with his Divine Knight, Valimar,in search of his friends from Class VII, and a way to end this conflict before it becomes too dear.

Though Trails of Cold Steel II was initially released in Japan for the PS3 back in 2014, and 2016 for North America and Europe, XSEED did previously announce a PS4 release date, with full 4K support, for March 8th in Japan. Japan are also about to receive the fourth instalment in this series, a PS4 exclusive which will also serve as the conclusion.
