Days Gone Will Have Plenty of Cutscenes
As we told you last month, Days Gone is definitively set to release in 2018. This is great news but today we received some more interesting news as it appears Days Gone will feature plenty of cutscenes for players to watch. So if you enjoy a game with incredible visuals and compelling storyline, it appears Days Gone is going to give you their best.
The information comes from Star Citizen Community Content Manager Jared Huckaby, who said on a livestream that he recently talked to actor Sam Witwer (who plays Deacon St. John in Days Gone). Huckaby claims that Witwer told him that the game features a “whole bunch of hours” of cutscenes. As we suggested, that should ease any concerns that the upcoming zombie action game will be overly focused on combat. Looks like we’d get plenty of story to soak in.
For more information on the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive, check out our Days Gone preview. According to former Executive Editor of COGconnected Shawn Petraschuk, Days Gone looks amazing. In his preview he said:
“Stepping out from that demo I was left with a renewed sense of interest in Days Gone. Sure they’re using many mechanics we’ve seen in games before but if we’re being honest, how many games don’t? There were still some unique takes on things that are distinctly Days Gone and while a lot of the narrative is still shrouded in secrecy I have a sneaking suspicion that we’re also in for a hell of a ride in that department as well. Let’s not write off Bend Studio’s upcoming game as nothing more than a ‘Best of’ compilation until we have everything laid out in front of us. I think we’re still in for a surprise or two.”
The game is an action-adventure survival horror game set in a post-apocalyptic open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. The player takes control of the game’s protagonist Deacon St. John (Samuel Witwer), a drifter and former bounty hunter who prefers to live a dangerous life on the road over living in wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic occurred which killed almost all of humanity, and transformed millions of others into “Freakers”, mindless zombie-like creatures that are quickly evolving.
