Death Stranding May Reveal a New Female Character in 2018

Kojima Productions Tweets New Mascot

While we still don’t have a release date for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, we’re pouring over all the trailers for some hint of the plot and then some. Additionally, we’re taking every tweet from the guy and his development team as a hint of something new to come because, as many might be aware, Kojima tends to act deliberately.

Kojima Productions Mascot

Oh, yea, happy new year. In wishing all fans a happy new year, Kojima, brought to our attention a female version of Ludens, the Kojima Productions mascot. But, instead of the mechanical skull face and mechanical figure, we received a version with an exposed face and legs. Clearly, we were supposed to distinguish the female underneath, but is Kojima hinting at something more to come? Will we receive news of a female character in Death Stranding soon?

Of the things we know are that Norman Reedus is leading the charge in Death Stranding as the playable character and that Mads Mikkelson is involved—the same can be said of Guillermo Del Toro. But, we’ve yet to see the fairer sex find a place in the game. With the unveiling of a new, female Ludens, Kojima may be teasing a changeup of sorts, especially since he seems to thrive on leaving puzzles for fans to solve. Expect surprises in 2018, this year.

Or it may just be Kojima Productions wishing everyone a happy new year. What are your thoughts? Comment down below to participate in the game. While Death Stranding still has no release date, Sony has declared that it’s being developed rather quickly. Stay tuned for updates.
