Git Gud For Gold, Everybody (Who Lives In The US)
If you’re one of the all people who have forgotten about the Sony Rewards program, guess what? It’s totally relevant again! Thanks to a recent update, American users who opt in to the program can now earn PSN credits for every trophy they collect!
To break it down a bit: 100 Silver Trophies are equal to 100 points, 25 Gold Trophies are worth 250 points and 10 Platinum Trophies net you 1000 points. Okay, so what you’re earning is the equivalent of cold hard cash, in that you can spend it like money on the PSN Store. The exchange rate works out to 100 points per dollar. If you’re diligent, you can earn up to 12 Trophy Passes every year.
Perhaps this doesn’t sound like the amazing deal you thought it would be when you read the headline. Keep in mind however, Silver Trophies are a tiny bit easier to earn than you realize. Most games that exist have at least ten silver trophies available. If you got started now, you could probably rack up a couple hundred of them without a prohibitive amount of effort. Of course, trophies you earned before the update don’t count towards this rewards system. If anything, this encourages you to work through all your new games with a fine-toothed comb. Think of all those dollars you could earn! Just don’t spend too much time doing the dollars earned vs hours spent math. It will make you sad.
