Irreverent Engineer Adventures…. In Space!
Hope springs eternal, if hope for you comes in the form of point-and-click adventure games. Kosmos Odysseus and His Robot Quest is the upcoming episodic sci-fi adventure series from Herocraft which may or may not provide that hope, depending on your feelings regarding snarky humour and mostly empty space stations.
The game puts you in charge of an enormous space station orbiting a planet which is itself not too distant from a black hole. This means that while everyone else is planet-side on a routine mission, you’re stuck waiting years for them to return. Essentially, time moves differently depending on your proximity to a black hole, leaving you fairly bored for a fairly long time. Thankfully, you’ve got yourself a snarky robot companion to keep you from going utterly bonkers.
The first chapter of Kosmos Odysseus is coming to Steam on November 27th, 2017, with the following four parts being released at a regular schedule thereafter. If you’ve found yourself missing the old routine of looking at and using a wide variety of objects in between well-written chunks of dialogue and story, this game will be just the remedy you were seeking out.
