The Great RTS of Galaxies Is Making It off Steam Early Access
Great 4x titles are few and far between. Not many can facilitate massive scale on top of compelling action, narrative, and customization. However, Dawn of Andromeda, the new real-time space title by GreyWolf Entertainment and Iceberg Interactive, looks promising. And it just so happens, Steam players can embark upon the massive space adventure on May 4.
Dawn of Andromeda is real-time-strategy in a gigantic space, no pun intended. But, considering the size of maps and factions, the game is pausable. This is how it sets itself apart from comprehensive titles like Sid Meier’s Civilization. You can even say Dawn of Andromeda combines the insightful empire management of Civilization with the non-stop action elements of Sins of a Solar Empire. Choose a faction, explore, build an empire, interact with other species, and wage war. Additionally, players can research new technologies to gain an edge in the galactic gambit.
Since the game has been available for Steam Early Access, GreyWolf has been polishing and adding new details. Here’s a list of new features that shall come with the launch:
- Eras – Unique scenarios, each with a pre-designed galaxy and background stories which you can play as one of the existing factions, each with their own victory conditions, traits, challenges and ongoing conflicts and relationships
- New animated cutscenes for each major race
- New Victory/End screens with statistics and extra information
- New (random) events
- More balanced gameplay mechanics
- Many bug fixes
“After much time spent gathering player feedback and suggestions from the Early Access phase, we are extremely excited to put the final touches on Dawn of Andromeda,” said Mike Domingues, lead developer at GreyWolf Entertainment. “We are truly confident that fans from all over the world will be able to fully immerse themselves into this galactic world we’ve worked so hard to create.”
