And Here’s a Little Investigation in what it Might Mean for Call of Duty WW2
Yesterday, we reported on the peculiar etchings within the Nazi zombie helmet, along with a small glimpse of Call of Duty WW2 gameplay. Sledgehammer games had displayed the picture as a preview of what’s to come in Call of Duty WW2’s co-op. Now, it seems the hidden message really does reveal something.
Turns out the zombie image really is related to the new COD: WWII teaser website. Enter the code and the website reveals three images prefaced by the words “A New Horror Rises.” Here’s what you can do from here. You can view the images below or you can go ahead and input the following code into the cipher:
IUFDJ BHLOP JMUBA
After you enter, see what pops up, then come back for a little talk on what these images might mean.
See the teaser images below:
As you can see, there is one very black ops… Black image with four unknown signatures. Then there are two classical images that are a bit cryptic, at least if you’re not a history buff. Alas, you can see the true names of the images below. “Barbarossa” happens to be the name of Hitler’s invasion plan against Russia. But Frederick Barbarossa was a Holy Roman Emperor who invaded Italy during the Middle Ages. More specifically, he waged war against the Pope… who was based in Rome.
In addition, Portrait of a Young Man was painted by famous Renaissance artist Rafael, hailing from Italy. Moreover, it is believed by some to be Rafael’s self-portrait and is considered to be the most important piece of art to go missing during World War II. Thus, we believe our zombie story will carry on in Italy. Moreover, those four signatures may be the names of the four playable characters in Call of Duty’s zombie co-op. Secret operation, anyone?
And our last tidbit, the cipher to unlock these three images originally started with three unlit lights. After we unlocked it, five unlit lights appeared. Now, we await the next clue to the next mystery.

P.S. Thanks to the good people over at Reddit for discovering this unlock.
