Amazon’s Leaked Call of Duty WW2 Box Jumps the Gun on Some Details

Still Not as Bad as Target’s Shadow of War Leak

Earlier today, we got official confirmation of Call of Duty WW2 and its impending reveal next week. Now, it looks like Amazon accidently listed the game in tandem with the announcement. The listing was since taken down, but we still learned some tidbits from it.

For starters, it seems this next installment will once again follow through on exclusivity deals with Sony by releasing its DLC a full 30 days before other systems. This has been the running theme with Call of Duty add-ons since Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. Thus, this latest piece of news is no surprise. However, we are still awaiting confirmation from the publisher.

Understandably, you’re free to take this little leak with a grain of salt. Nothing is confirmed until it’s confirmed. Moreover, the placeholder release date was nowhere near the anticipated November release.

But, the other obvious takeaway from this leak is that Call of Duty WW2 will be up for pre-order soon, probably on or after the reveal on April 26. Moreover, thanks to Reddit user MrCooperstown, we know GameStop is likely to begin promoting the game on or immediately after the day of reveal. Such is our deduction from the posted images:

APR24.END.COD obviously represents a shipment dealing with this year’s Call of Duty title, expected to be Call of Duty WW2 promotional material. Now, the Destiny shipment that is arriving on the same day could entail any number of things. But the coincidence is mighty suspicious. Could Activision be planning a Destiny 2 reveal on the same day or soon? That’s a question for the next week.
