The Division Update 1.6 Now Lets PS4 Pro Players Explore New York in 4K
In case you missed it, The Division update, latest 1.6, was released yesterday. Newest DLC, The Last Stand, is available now to Season Pass holder. But this has also paved the way for new world events, a new tier, and plenty of new content to slingshot the gameplay experience. However, there’s also a chance player’s missed a small tidbit of the update notes. From hereon, Tom Clancy’s The Division will play in 4K.
As you can imagine, the game released during Spring of last year, before the PS4 Pro arrived. Apparently, devs have worked hard toward utilizing the 4K features of the console; The Division update 1.6 now lets them showcase the fruits of their labor to the public. Previously, the game offered native 1080p, while the user interface rendered in 4K. Now the console utilizes “4K resolution at all times.”

Division players can log on any moment after updating and note the difference if they have a 4K TV. But even some downsampling may be visible. Some NeoGAF users seem to be enjoying the difference, which is significant. Here are some of the images they’ve posted to display in-game resolution.
The Division was a bold endeavor the day it was announced at E3 2013, and has witnessed many changes since its polarizing release in 2016.
