Rumour: Killzone 5 Leaked by Dutch Newspaper?

Major Dutch Publication Posts Unconfirmed Killzone 5 Rumour

While we previously reported that no new Killzone titles were in the works, a major Dutch newspaper has posted otherwise. According to a rumour from Playstation Universe, the studio is working on Killzone 5.

Parool.nl, the online branch of a major Dutch news publication, recently published a report stating that Guerrilla Games is working on the next Killzone title. The report, acquired through Google Translate, states that “Guerrilla, where 270 people work, was acquired in 2005 by Sony. Now it is working on a new Killzone.”

That’s a pretty clear statement. However, it was acquired and confirmed by Google Translate. It’s advanced software unless you’ve ever tried using it to finish a university assignment. On the other hand, Parool is allegedly a pretty big Dutch newspaper. If anyone’s going to have at least one fact-check person on staff, it’s going to be an outfit of that size and relative prestige.

If the rumour is true, it would almost represent backwards progress for Guerrilla Games. With Horizon: Zero Dawn getting fantastic reviews and sales projections, they don’t have to be the Killzone studio anymore. Hopefully Guerrilla Games responds to these rumours in short order.
