Super Mario Odyssey is Already Finished
Liam Robertson is a well-known insider who recently broke the news about Scalebound being canceled by Microsoft and now he has revealed some very interesting news about the upcoming Nintendo Switch title, Super Mario Odyssey. In a conversation over Twitter, he revealed that the game is in fact completely done its full-scale development and ready for release at any time. He actually stated flat out that the game could have easily been released as a launch title.
@LonelyGoomba @AgeOfMyself Ah. Well, I still maintain that it’s content complete and Nintendo could drop it at launch if they wanted to.

@LonelyGoomba @AgeOfMyself It’s been sitting around, finished full scale development for a while now.

Robertson goes on to further explain that the reason for the hold back in releasing the game is purely marketing. Nintendo wants to have a stacked lineup come Holiday 2017 and what better to lead the charge than Super Mario Odyssey?
@GThing64 @LonelyGoomba @AgeOfMyself Because it’s not out until the end of the year. Basic marketing stuff.

Easily one of the most promising and anticipated titles shown in the Nintendo Switch presentation a few days ago, we’ll readily admit that the wait for Mario is going to be a painful one. At least we’ll have Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to tide us over until then!
What are your thoughts, readers? If it’s done should they just release it or is this a smart move on Nintendo’s part?
