Resident Evil 7 Not Coming to The Switch
Yesterday, we told you about a recent Resident Evil 7 Famitsu review which indicated the game is about 15 hours. This more or less falls in line with previous entries in the series. The review praised the game for its combination of nostalgia and new experiences. You can read more about that here. Now we do know Capcom has said it is potentially interested in making games for the Nintendo Switch; however, it doesn’t look like the Resident Evil series is among them, at least not yet.
When asked about the possibility of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard appearing on the Switch the Game’s producer Masachika Kawata said:
“I think it’s a very unique piece of hardware, I’m looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.”
Capcom is among the dozens of development partners for the Switch, so it’s possible some Capcom games will come to the console.
The next Resident Evil movie, The Final Chapter, comes out on January 27 but unfortunately it made our big list of movies to avoid.
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard will be releasing on the 24th of January in North America and Europe on the PS4, Xbox One, PC and on PSVR where it will be exclusive for a year before it comes to other VR platforms. Capcom also recently revealed that Resident Evil VII: Biohazard will support Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” initiative so if you buy the game on Xbox One you’ll get a free PC version via the Windows Store.
