Bethesda’s Pete Hines Pokes Fun at Elder Scrolls VI Prediction

And in Doing So Kills Our Elder Scrolls Hopes and Dreams

So how close are we to seeing an Elder Scrolls VI? Well some people tend to make their predictions, and according to Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines, others just totally miss the mark. Per usual, GamesIndustry.biz published an analytical piece, this time for 2017 predictions. And Wedbush security analyst Michael Pachter had his own prediction concerning the next Elder Scrolls.

Pete Hines Elder Scrolls VI

The next Elder Scrolls installment comes out, the next Half-Life installment does not. I think Bethesda is close, and think that Valve is not. However, I’d like to be half wrong on this one.”

How very peculiar for him to say. Perhaps his overwhelming anticipation informed his prediction. We’ve all been spurred by excitement in the gaming industry, after all, and Bethesda has already informed us that Elder Scrolls VI is years away. That’s just how it is. However, Pete Hines felt compelled to address this remark and did so via tweet:

Exactly as stated, Pete Hines already claimed there won’t be a new Elder Scrolls for years.  And Todd Howard has reiterated the fact. As you can imagine, this consistency between them stops us fans from getting riled up. Yet that did not stop Michael Pachter’s amusing response:

Thus, Hines and Howard have made things quite clear. For now, we have but to let Skyrim Remastered tie us over. That or Elder Scrolls Online. But in the spirit of making predictions, what are your own thoughts? Comment and let us know. Also, feel free to talk some Bethesda. No one gets tired of talking Bethesda. We certainly don’t. For more of the latest on gaming, keep up with COGconnected.
