New Friday the 13th: The Game Video Clip Teases Terrifying Gameplay

New Friday the 13th: The Game Video Clip

When the new Friday the 13th: The Game was announced, the dev team said they would not hold back on the blood and guts department. That definitely appears to be the case in a trailer we told you about back in September. It was nothing short of brutal and disturbing.

Friday the 13th: The Game’s isn’t out until the Spring 2017 and very little gameplay has been released thus far. However, today developer Gun Media teased a little bit of gameplay. Yes, it isn’t much but it’s something.

Friday The 13th Hero

Seen in the video below, is a player controlled female who appears to be running for her life. She is seen in the video jumping into a cabin via a window. Unfortunately, she winds up with a bloodied shirt and this apparently impacts gameplay effects. Check out the clip:

Gun Media describes the video as “Showcasing the pros and cons of escaping Jason via a window, you can opt to try to escape quickly by jumping out of any open window. Be careful, as you will adversely affected.”

Friday the 13th: The Game was originally called “Slasher Vol 1. Summer Camp” before Gun Media was able to secure the rights to the Friday the 13th license from franchise creator Sean S. Cunningham. This will be the first time Jason has stepped back into the virtual world since 1989’s Friday the 13th NES game.

As its stands it is a third-person multiplayer game for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. One player will play as Jason, while the others will play as a group of camp counselors. According to the development team:

“Friday the 13th: The Video Game is focused mainly on the Jason vs Counselor scenarios that have been the staple of the series since the beginning; you will be playing as Jason or a camp counselor in Camp Crystal Lake. The multiplayer component to the game will pit one player as Jason against up to seven people as counselors. We’ve dedicated an incredible amount of time to balancing out counselor vs. Jason scenarios to ensure fans are every bit as excited by the possibility of slaying jocks, nerds, and cheerleaders as Jason Voorhees, while simultaneously giving you that sense of challenge and fear from being a counselor.”
