Red Faction Coming to PS4?
Red Faction 2’s short campaign and lack of online multiplayer were criticized by many; however, the game featured dual wielding, great split-screen multiplayer, and pretty good graphics at the time. IGN gave the game a 90+ review score back in the day, so the news the game may be coming to the PS4 is pretty exciting. Today, the European rating agency PEGI rated the 2003 PS2 classic Red Faction 2 for PS4 which suggests it is coming and soon.
This latest rating comes hot off the heels of the rating for first game in the series, Red Faction, which was rated earlier this month. This now leads us to think that THQ Nordic, the owner of the IP, is planning to re-release the series (or at least part of it) on the PS4 via the PlayStation’s PS2 Classics program. According to the rating, the game is set to release tomorrow, which would line-up with the usual Tuesday release of PS2 classics. However, whether this will be the case or not is anyone’s best guess. What is evident is that the Red Faction series is making its way over to the PS4, likely in the near future.
