The Division Underground DLC is finally on PS4, and we have all the details
It’s been a fast-and-furious week already for fans of The Division. We just told you about a Division movie in the works, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Now, Ubisoft has announced that the Underground expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division is now available on the PS4. The Division Underground is available for free with the Season Pass of course, or it can be purchased separately for $15.00. Plus, the game has a huge new 1.3 Update coming right along with the DLC, with a host of new features of its own. Check out the full story on both below.
First off, what is the new DLC all about? In The Division Underground expansion, agents must fight a war on two fronts. Below the streets of New York, enemy factions are regrouping and preparing a large-scale attack. Players will confront these threats with up to three friends as they explore randomly generated dungeons comprised of subways, tunnels and sewers, and recover powerful loot. While in Hell’s Kitchen, the Dragon’s Nest Incursion apparently offers the biggest challenge to date, where the Cleaners are developing a devastating new weapon and have set their sights on the Base of Operations as their first target.
New Features:
- New Gear Sets
- B.L.I.N.D. – Control the battlefield with an improved Pulse skill and flashbangs with this hybrid gear set.
- DeadEYE – Dictate long-range engagements with powerful critical strikes or accurate headshots.
- FireCrest – Set enemies ablaze with this offensive gear set.
- Reclaimer – Boost the entire group with this ultimate support set.
Accessing the DLC (info via the Division Reddit page):
In order to access the Underground DLC on PS4, you’ll have to visit the DLC page in the PlayStation Store and click on “Download.” Underground will be available to download during the game’s Server Maintenance on August 2nd, and be available to play when the servers are back up (all maintenance will be finished by 0:00 PDT).
An important note: to play the Underground DLC, it is required that you:
- Have purchased the Season Pass or Underground as stand alone.
- Be level 30 (although difficulty level can be adjusted)
- Have finished General Assembly mission
- Have finished the new Side Mission in Tenderloin.
Only then you can access Underground in the new Hub in the Base of Operations.
Update 1.3 Details (via UbiBlog):
Update 1.3 is a major update that deploys alongside The Division Underground that adds a raft of improvements for all players. Delivering more than bug fixes, Update 1.3 adds a new Gear Set – AlphaBridge, which lets you take advantage of all equipped weapon talents – as well as new high-end weapons, a new Base of Operations extension called the Terminal, and Heroic Mode and Challenge Mode difficulty levels for select missions. Other highlights include:
- A new Dark Zone bracket for players with 231+ Gear Score.
- Level 30 players will now only encounter level 30 or higher enemy NPCs in Free Roam.
- Matchmaking and fast-travel into no-respawn areas.
- The High-Risk High-Value Targets have had their rewards and difficulty adjusted to take into account the Gear Score increase.
- Added a base weapon damage value that makes it easier to compare weapons.
