Man of Steel 2 In The Works
Much to our surprise, today we learned that Warner Bros. has put Man of Steel 2 in active development. Further details are unknown, but The Wrap cites sources saying that Man of Steel 2 is a “top priority” for the studio, as is “getting the character right for audiences.”
We figured a Man of Steel sequel was a long ways off from happening, so this is pretty big news. The Zack Snyder-directed redo earned a whopping $668 million at the worldwide box office, so it was a hit despite the lackluster reviews. This summer’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which picked up where that film left off, has pulled in $872 million.
There is no question Warner Bros upcoming line-up of movies is crowded at the moment. While a Ben Affleck-directed Batman movie doesn’t yet have a release date, The Wrap adds that Man of Steel 2 is likely to come after that solo Dark Knight film.
Regardless, we are pretty excited another stand-alone Superman movie is on the way.
