Red Dead Redemption, Xbox One Backwards Compatible on July 8

Red Dead Redemption Finally Going Backwards Compatible

red dead redemption

Just a couple of weeks ago we announced rumors that Rockstar’s second favorite franchise (first amongst quite a few), Red Dead Redemption was gearing up to hit the Xbox One backwards compatibility list. Turns out those rumors weren’t rumors at all but the absolute truth. Rockstar made the official announcement this morning that RDR was going to be available for backwards compatibility on this coming Friday, July 8.

Starting on Friday, every Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 owner will be able to play the game directly on their Xbox One, regardless of which version of the game they own (Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition). And for those who have yet to experience it, the game will be available to purchase on Friday from the Games Store on Xbox One.

Fans everywhere are surely rejoicing as Red Dead Redemption is one of the most requested games for backwards compatibility ever. We can only hope that an announcement of the much-anticipated sequel isn’t too far behind.
