The Last Guardian is Worth the Wait, Says Shuhei Yoshida

The Last Guardian Will Deliver, Despite the Long Development

In a recent interview with GameWelt.tv, the President of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida further iterated his full confidence in the upcoming The Last Guardian. With a development cycle that has run long past its due date, many had wondered if there was trouble brewing, but Yoshida-san says otherwise, relayed his confidence in The Last Guardian, besides its long development.

“No, I’m not worried, I have confidence in the team and Ueda-san’s vision. We are so excited to finally be able to play this game that needed to be out. I expect people will enjoy it when it comes out.”

In further questioning, Yoshida-san was asked if at any point in time during the cycle that The Last Guardian was ever on the verge of being cancelled for good.

“[The Last Guardian] was always in development… it took longer…especially when we made the decision to move from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.”

Obviously with a release date finally being announced (Oct 25, 2016) we’ll be able to decide this for ourselves very soon. Probably one of the single most anticipated games of all time it’s exciting to know that we’re only a few months away from playing it. What are your thoughts on the game?
