Link Your Steam And GOG Library Starting Today With GOG Connect

GOG Connect Is Major New Feature Of GOG Client

Starting today, users of both Steam and GOG (we do exist!) can opt to link the two libraries together in a brand new feature from the GOG team, known as GOG Connect. You can opt to connect your Steam account to add any eligible titles to your GOG library, free of charge, and that’s just downright awesome. The GOG client is still definitely finding its way, as Steam is essentially the be-all end all choice for video game digital distribution. Despite this, by offering DRM-free versions of heavy-hitters such as The Witcher 3, the client definitely has its merits, especially with some forms of DRM proving to cause issues with even running a game to begin with. (We’re looking at you, Denuvo.)

GOG Connect

The list is currently rather small, but that’s normal with implementing such an ambitious project. The following titles, if you own them on Steam, will net you a full-fledged version of the title on GOG. The following titles serve as the first wave on what will likely grow to be a massive list. The full initial offering can be found here, but below are the major standouts:

  • The Witness
  • FTL: Faster Than Light
  • The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
  • Galactic Civilizations 3
  • Trine Enchanted Edition
  • Saints Row 2
  • Shadowrun Returns
  • The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

GOG Connect is planned to be a permanent fixture of what GOG offers, however, the available games will change fairly often. These games being offered up are based off deals made in tandem with participating developers and publishers. Make sure to stay tuned to what GOG posts on their page, otherwise you may miss out on the chance to get a DRM free version of one of your favourites!

This feature is live as of writing, so go link your accounts to claim free versions of some quality titles, provided you own them already. They may not be around for long…
