This week in TWIG, we take a look at some of the biggest gaming stories in the past 7 days.  Although this week was all about Virtual Reality (VR), we also heard from The Division, Uncharted 4, Xbox One, and Pokemon. Let’s take a look at the most important gaming news stories for the week of March 13th to March 19th, 2016. Welcome to This Week in Gaming.
Virtual Reality (VR)
- Oculus Shows Us the Games:Â Oculus Rift was first out of the gate this week, unveiling a list of 30 launch games that it hopes will sell consumers on the idea of paying $600 for its VR headset:
- PlayStation VR Mania: Sony had a very good week, trumping its rivals with a date and price announcement that had everyone talking (and getting out their wallets):
- Camera Shy: After the euphoria of Sony’s PSVR announcement, consumers realized that they would need a camera to go along with it – well played again, Sony!
- Pre-Order Stampede: As we’ve come to expect with big consumer electronics launches, the PlayStation VR will likely sell out fast. Here is the info on how to get yours:
- New PlayStation?  To power that new PSVR hardware (and 4K gaming), Sony has been reportedly working on an upgraded PS4:
- Well, That Was Fast: Â Only days after the PlayStation VR price and pre-order news broke, word came that people were already starting to see them on eBay:
- Battlezone VR’s Explosive Trailer:Â One of PlayStation VR’s most promising titles showed off a pretty new Trailer this week, making us drool with excitement over its gorgeous visuals:
- AMD Jumps Into the Virtual Pool:Â Not to be outdone by the Big Boys, AMD announced a VR headset of its own this week, the Sulon Q, which boasts a few features that set it apart:
- There Will Be Wolves: Ubisoft announced a cool new game in development for all VR headsets; “Werevolves Within” pits you against your friends as you try to find out who is lying:
The Division
- Historic Launch:Â Ubisoft’s juggernaut continued to roll this week, becoming the studio’s biggest game ever:
- Historic Launch Part II: The Division also had the best opening week ever, for any game:
- Even Japan Loves It:Â Japan, which historically hates shooters, was even in love with Ubisoft’s latest:
- The Division, Eh: Ubisoft sponsored a fan art contest with a prize of $5,000 (that’s about 20 bucks US):
- Of Course There’s a Loot Cave: We told you how to find all the goodies in The Division’s Loot Cave:
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Good as Gold:Â This week Naughty Dog Tweeted that Uncharted 4 had already gone gold. That bodes well for the game, which is due to release in May:
- It’s Looking Gorgeous: The highly-anticipated PS4 exclusive is also apparently one of the best-looking games ever, according to those who have seen it:
