You Will Need a PS4 Camera if You Are Buying a PlayStation VR

This morning at the Game Developers Conference, Sony gave us an update on PlayStation VR. They announced the VR will release in October of this year. This will cost you around $400.00 USD or $549.99 CAD for the VR unit.

Sony also announced more than 230 developers are building content for PlayStation VR, from smaller independent teams to larger studios at the industry’s top publishers. PlayStation is expecting to have more than 50 games available from launch in October, 2016 until the end of the year.

But there’s a catch…..

According to GameSpot the headset will require a PS4 camera to function. The camera is not bundled with the $400 PlayStation VR package by default and must be purchased separately for $60.

Also, according to the information available, those who purchase a PlayStation VR will need to buy Move controllers separately, which are required for some games. Move controllers are normally priced at $50 each, with certain games needing two controllers.
