Blinx
Oh, Blinx. This lovable time travelling cat was supposed to be Microsoft’s platforming mascot similar to Sonic and Mario. It didn’t quite end up that way, as despite its fantastic premise of time manipulation, the game received simply okay reviews and didn’t find a huge audience. Now that games like Yooka-Laylee have shown that there is a market for a cartoony platforming series, it would be the perfect time to bring back the feline hero.
High Heat Baseball
Ever since Visual Concepts stopped creating entries in their MLB 2K series, Xbox owners have been left with RBI Baseball as their only licensed choice. That’s rough, as that series already has three entries and have barely improved from terrible to just bad. This is where Microsoft can step in. They already own the High Heat Baseball license, having purchased it after 3DO went out of business, but have never used it. This is the perfect opportunity for Microsoft to create a competitor to MLB The Show.
Banjo-Kazooie
While Viva Piñata may be Gregg Mayles’ greatest contribution to gaming, Banjo-Kazooie is a close second. The series started off on N64, and was the best collectathon on the system. The series evolved on Xbox 360 by having a brand new twist and focusing on vehicle customization. Nuts & Bolts is the best entry in the series, and it’s a shame that the engaging car building hasn’t really been seen elsewhere since its 2008 release. Maybe once Sea of Thieves wraps up, Mayles and Rare can give fans the sequel to one of the 360’s best games.
